DAVE takes PICTURES – blog

Just thought I would let you know that I enjoy reading your blog…I used to blog occasionally and I always wondered if anyone read it, so I thought I would say hi!
I am still plugging along with my 50D, saving for a 5D MkII, and loving every minute I get to shoot. The beauty of being an amateur is I only shoot what I want, when I want.
Have a great summer!
Hi Dave, You seem to have a lot of experience so I wonder if you can answer this for me. I appreciate your time! I have a Profoto600 B2 with 2 of the Profoto Life batteries and they are working perfectly. I am looking at buying an older Acute 600B R pack that has a non functioning SLA battery. Will my LIfe batteries work with the Profoto 600 B R?
Any help appreciated!
Hi Dave, I just found your blog and all your info on replacing and converting your Profoto AcuteB battery. Was wondering if it was worth the time and effort. I still own 2 AcuteB 600R’s with 5 lead-acid type batteries and wonder if I should make the swop. Going for an original Profoto Life battery feels ridiculous to do.
Hey Rob, hmm, submitted in 2015 and I’m just getting the notification. Did you ever do it? I have been using Elinchrom Ranger Quadras for the past few years and even though occasionally I take out my 600B was it worth it? Well, at least it’s not in the scrap heap? Works great, I just rarely use it. If it’s your favorite and you have access to a 3d printer and a couple hours to assemble it, it’s a much cheaper way to get your packs running. Yes seemed ridiculous to buy their battery which also would require a new charger… at profoto prices.
